Need helpf with Single wall side glass.

Just picked up a nice single wall hard top, with roof rack. However, it doesn't have any glass in the side window. I have a double wall top, is the glass the same in double and single? Also, it has one low spot in the roof, unlike my double that has four.....How do you fix the low spot? Does anyone reproduce these? thanks everyone for the input!

I can only answer the side glass portion at this time, no they are not the same. Dbl wall top has thicker side glass. Have not figured out repairing roof sage yet, way down the road in my build. Tops are not reproduced, the hatch is but I hear it sucks.

don't know how much sag you're talking about on your double wall. but they all puddled from day one. never seemed to hurt anything though.

Re: Need helpf with Single wall side glass.

I changed out my dbl wall to a single wall on my 71, holes in bed rail did not match some say they do. Also broke the glass out of one side of my single wall and replaced it with one out of my double wall, seal and glass fit nice. The glass in both of my tops were the same.

Re: Need helpf with Single wall side glass.

So the glass is the same and the glass seals are the same also? I have read on here guys that say they are and some say they are not? How about the wiring harness from the fuse box to the single wall. Does anyone reproduce those?.......... Thank you guys for the input. I'm doing my first blazer restoration and I could have never have done it without this forum. You all have saved me so much money and time!

The glass and seals on mine were the same, also was the area where seals meet the top.

I have an extra single wall harness I will be placing in the for sale section soon. I will give you first dibs on it.

Re: Need helpf with Single wall side glass.

I am about to try this same thing. Just windering about some followup blueridge? How'd it work?

And bentblazer, I have double wall glass and gaskets to put in my single wall. Should I use the doublewall gasket or the single wall gaskets I have?

Re: Need helpf with Single wall side glass.

If you can compare the two, I believe you will find they are the same, but if it were me I would use the the ones that were for the single wall.

Re: Need helpf with Single wall side glass.

I have seen a set from both a double wall and single wall side by side, the gaskets are different, and if I remember right, so was the glass I was looking at.

I think it was Livrat who has several samples of each and could possibly give us all a definitive answer.

Re: Need helpf with Single wall side glass.

Yes, I remember seeing that. But apparently the differences aren't so major as to keep the switch from working, because I have seen quite a few say they did it no problem. I'll be trying it soon and will post how it goes!

Re: Need helpf with Single wall side glass.

Update!! ** I found the original post that the pictures came from.. not surprised it's a board member.. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=252569

Ok, I hope this helps a bit, I finally found the pictures I had tucked away. I owe credit to the owner of these as they are not mine, but I can't seem to find the reference site I found them on.. Probably a board member either way Thanks! to somebody out there.. I've posted them here http://www.2heeldrive.com/Chevrolet/...%20wall%20Top/

Next will be to measure the glass thickness between the two styles and see what that is..
