LS1 Camaro tank / pump question
Ok, I've bought 2 parts for my "57-with-a-heart-transplant" project, and already I'm running in to unforseen parts stuff.
I bought an 02 Camaro w/ LS1 plastic 17 gallon gas tank & fuel pump assembly. Apparently, the Camaro setup uses an internal pressure regulator - part of the pump assembly in the tank. I also have the C5 regulator / filter. At first I was thinking "OMG I wasted moneys and I have to re think my fuel system" but now... The LS1 fuel system is good for a *lot* more power than the LM7 makes. Flow? Check. Internal regulator changes nothing. Two regulators? No problem. Shorter return line from the C5 to the tank instead of the LM7 to the tank? Bonus prize. Easy parts available, no modifications - OEM parts except the lines? Check. Am I correct, here? this seems like it should work fine. Feed -->C5-->line1 return to tank & line2 to engine. Put a cap on the Evap line, remove the cannister, find somewhere to put the filler neck. Am I missing anything important? |

Re: LS1 Camaro tank / pump question
I would not run 2 regulators. I would either take the Vette filter back to where you bought it or just resell it to someone who needs one. Then get you a filter for a Camaro. The price difference is huge, about 45 for a good quality Vette filter and about 8 or so for the camaro. You'll also have less fuel line to run.
