I did the 80's to 70's clip swap!
well i kicked down and did the 80's square to 70's round front clip swap.
I bought a front clip complete including bolts for 125$.its a 78-79 i think.full chrome front and external hood release. removed the '82 and the 70's clip actually bolted up fairly well. i didnt have to remove or even touch the core support mounting brackets? bumpers not on yet,i am searching for a nice one. The only thing i had trouble with was the aftermarket fenders.they sucked! i had to do excessive shimming on certain spots.its terrible haha. a Cowl hood is in line eventually for it. What do you think? better?(not 100% done yet) BEFORE- AFTER

Its the lack of bumper that makes it look taller.

Nice... I did the same to mine. It definetly needs the bumper to make it look level.

Re: I did the 80's to 70's clip swap!
Ibthink the non cowl hood kinda keeps a classic look which I like. Decisions decisions.
I was thinking the 73/74 grills hut im not sure how that would look with the 79 full chrome trim? I have a completely redone 79 grills silver with polished metal strips repainted black strip centers etc its nice I wonder if that would look better? And paint the howtie a color. I like it a lot! Buy the bumper paint everything and forget about the cowl hood..

Re: I did the 80's to 70's clip swap!
So you didnt have to move the radiator support?
I want to swap my 74 to like a 84 front end |
