Spare tire location
Since I'm running 33's on the burb, has any one mounted a spare on the exterior? It doesn't even come close to fitting in the well. Is there a swing-away spare tire holder or has someone fabbed up something?

This might be your best bet for exterior spare tire mounting: TireGate HitchGate
That's what I'm thinking of using on my Suburban. Kind of pricey, but looks pretty durable, and has some options for accessories.

Bringing this back. Wouldn’t a hickey type swing away carrier (common on blazers) work in a tailgate type suburban? Never seen one tho

I would think so but the shape of the brackets that bolt to the body do not match the contour of the Suburban.
I haven't seen anyone fab up their own.

I put on a "WILCO" receiver hitch swing away after I went to 33" tires. Works great and is very stable! It has a wedge that you tighten into the receiver that makes it rock solid...
