Re: 1971 Custom Crew Cab Build - Arizona-
The suburban was cut in half as well as a rear cab of another truck cab. After the extensive cutting , welding, and grinding the cab was then prepped for primer. The new (crew cab) was now stripped down for complete sanding. The new shortbed was mocked on, as the rear end was relocated to fit proper alignment. As of today the truck is undergoing the final wetsanding stages prior to paint..

Re: 1971 Custom Crew Cab Build - Arizona-
what did you do frame wise to extend the wheel base? What suspension are you going with? Going to bag it? Keeping the 8 lug suspension? Sweet start!! Watching intently...

Re: 1971 Custom Crew Cab Build - Arizona-
I wanted the same appearance, so I popped the rivits on the crossmember that connect the trailing arms. Then walked the rear end back about a foot or so,, relocating the gas tank.... Once the truck is painted, the frame will be removed for the 5 lug conversion,Completion of air bag suspension, sandblast and powder coated..

not bad but you'll need more pics of the process because this is certainly a great idea to use a burb with this

Re: 1971 Custom Crew Cab Build - Arizona-
Today did the final layout stance, wanted to go all the way to the floor but wanted to keep the factory look under the hood with fender wells, and a regular short bed. Despite how custom the truck will be, ITS STILL A MANS TRUCK!!!! Wet sand wet sand and prep for paint , end of this week or start of next week..
