454 in a 70
I'm going to install a 454 into a 70 Chevy pickup. It had a small block (327 or 350). Will the 454 bolt right in or do I need to change the motor mounts?
I'm also installing a Turbo 400 trans behind it (I guess that makes more sense than in front of it.) But the trans is out of a 4x4 so, I need a tailshaft installed. What length should I go? I know there was a short and long. Would it make any differance? Thanks Mike

It will bolt in with the small black mounts but I wouldn't do it...they have a have a hard enough time staying together behind a smallblock. The "correct" way to do it would be to get some 72 bb towers and mounts since the were the best of the 67-72 bb mounts...BUT since you have the 82 you are parting out I would use the mounts from it. Should only require drilling a few holes to make it work. Good Luck

Looks like they got you covered, The tail shaft should be a 6" one.

Cool! Thanks.
It appears I should have all the parts on hand to do the conversion. Hey...I only need one more post to get 100! WooHoo! Mike
