More info on Mono leafs

I just want to share my great experience:
I just put some Mono leaf springs on the front of my 55.2 3200 and I have to say I am very pleased.

I had previously removed the smallest and third smallest leafs from my spring packs and that lowered the front without any bump steer. (Distance from ground to top of fender opening was 29 ¼ inches.)

I had also tried flipping the front axle buy putting it above the spring pack and that lowered it to 26 inches but gave me horrible bump steer. (It was downright dangerous. Think uncontrolled lane changes at highway speeds.)

With the Mono leafs (3 inch drop) the distance from ground to top of fender opening is 28 inches.

I have no bump steer. Last night I test drove the truck hitting every bump I could find up to about 50 mph. I bounced around a bit like you would expect but I experienced no bump steer.

As a side note, I have 15 inch OEM wheels running 205-70-15 tires. I also have 4 degree shims between the axle and the springs and the truck doesn’t nearly wander as much as it used to at highway speeds.

The truck looks better and still is very drivable!

Re: More info on Mono leafs

That is good news. I have monoleafs on all 4 corners but it will be a while till it's on the road.
Are you going to put them on back?
And, do you have the stock steering set up?
