Restoration Question
I know this is going to sound like a dumb question to a lot of you pros but i am completely new to this and i would love some advice. I recently got a 72 k20 to restore. We got it from an old friend and he had already done most of the frame work on it. We just want to know what everyone does before you go and get the truck painted? Do I have to strip all of the old paint off and do i need to strip all the wiring out of the entire truck? Any help is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks guys.

Re: Restoration Question
I personally would let the paint shop decide wheather it needs stripping, but do insist on an epoxy sealer coat before paint.
As to the wiring, if it were me, I would remove the wiring and get an American Autowire Classic update kit to replace the original, but if your wiring is good and not chopped up by previous owners, you might be ok. fwiw |

Re: Restoration Question
Agreed with letting the Body Shop decide. They will remove what needs to be removed and since they have done this before...less chance of breaking parts or losing parts.
Good luck. Others?
