Mechanical question
Hello all.
I'm new here, and I mainly hang around the hot rod forums but have had a square body chevy since I was 15. And knew it was time to finally join this forum. Dumb question, the main answer Im sure will be that I need a set of helping hands. I recently did some motor maintenance on my 87 chevy 1/2 ton. This involved replacing all the belts while certain things were apart. When tensioning the power steering pump I pried on the reservoir causing it too leak. So I now have a new pump and reservoir, pulley swapped and back in the truck. I see where there is a nub on the water pump and a notch in the power steering bracket. But its just not enough leverage for me to pry on and tighten the bolts. I think I barely get it, then as I tighten the bolts it pulls it down and puts slack in the belt. I've tried a few different things and Im frustrated trying to do it myself. So I figured I would see if anyone has any tricks, or do I just need to wait till I get a friend to help me. Thanks in advance. Joey
