Fire Extinguishers!
My 72 Blazer is all stock in appearamce with a few tweeks to my taste. I have a hickey rollbar in mine and want to install a fire extinguisher or two for obvious reasons. I am thinking of mounting them on the slanted pole from the wheel well to the top of the roll bar. Maybe two 1LB canisters? Anyone have any pics of this type of install? What type of extinguisher did you use. It has to be practical but also kinda look cool too. I DO NOT want to mount to a kick panel, rear panel, or floor. I also dont want to spend 150.00 an extinguisher either. Show me some pics!

Re: Fire Extinguishers!
I don't have photos of it but mine is on the upright part of the roll bar right behind my seat. The fire extinguisher came with a cam style mount that I combined with large hose clamps to secure to the bar.
Simple and pretty clean install. It could be made better if I color matched the hose clamps to the bar, but it doesn't bug me so I left it alone. |

Re: Fire Extinguishers!
I have a factory Hickey bar in mine, couldn't bare to mount anything to it after I painted it
![]() When I bought my blazer years ago it had a small extinguisher mounted at the pass side kick panel. Honestly I've never thought about moving it. Uses a simple single bracket with one screw and bascially sits on the floor. Only thing I did a couple years back was buy a new one. Managed to find a white one that matches the interior and it's filled with specific stuff for gas and electrical fire. Frankly I forget it's there and pay it no attention, if I actually needed one I'd be in trouble ![]() |
