1969 C-10 Key question
Does anyone know what style keys were used on a 1969 C-10 truck (square or octagon)? Were there 2 keys (1 for the doors and 1 for the ignition) and if so what style of keys were used? I currently have 2 square keys one for the ignition and a different coded one for the doors. I think this is wrong.
Thanks again for your help Dave |

Re: 1969 C-10 Key question
All the ones I have had a rectangular key head and one key fits all 3 locks. What probably has happened is someone changed the ignition at some point and left the doors keyed to the original ignition hence the reason for 2 keys.

Re: 1969 C-10 Key question
I think one key fit the doors and the ignition, So someone probably changed either the door locks or the ignition.

The guys are right. The 1967's and maybe a few '68s came with the small Octagon head key. All the rest came with the rectangular head key and one key fit all the locks on the truck. If you ever want to make them all the same all you would have to do is remove the ignition lock cylinder and take it and one of your door keys to a locksmith. He should be able to put new wafers in the ignition lock to match the doors. If you want it done and can't find a locksmith in your area that can do it PM me. LockDoc
