Change motor or change body parts
I don't have alot of experience in restoration so with that here is what I'm looking at. Have two trucks both 72 gmc one has good motor, trans and title but very rough body. Other has no title, locked motor but really good body. Do i change motor and title or switch most all body parts Need advice from experienced restoreration guys.

swap the body. Doesn't take much time to pull these old trucks apart.

Re: Change motor or change body parts
I'd just swap the VIN instead of trying to go through that.

Re: Change motor or change body parts
VIN swaps can bring you a lot of unwanted trouble . Check your state laws . Hate to see you lose all your hard work and money because of an illegal short cut .

Re: Change motor or change body parts
This is very true. The state can and will take your truck if they find out. My apologies for even suggesting it. Sometimes the old minitrucker side of me comes back out... Don't half ass it!

Re: Change motor or change body parts
Can you get a title for the one with the bad motor? Then just swap motors...

Re: Change motor or change body parts
I could maybe get a salvage title but how much will that hurt the value.
