Re: Show me your fuel cell
the best thing to do is go get a tank and all the hard wear off a blazer or suburban. that way you get what u need and u can see how it is done.

Re: Show me your fuel cell
I'm looking for someone who might have 45 gal. fuel tank for a suburban. These were made back in th early 70's. Big made of heavy guage steel and held up with 4 long bolt though the plywood floor.

Re: Show me your fuel cell
That fuel cell isn't big enough, better upgrade to a keg.

Re: Show me your fuel cell
if u want a big fuel cell some suburbans had a 45 gallon tank. if that the size you looking for. you can get on out of at a junk yard and get all the hard wear and mounting brackets you will need. u can also take pic of how it is mounted in befor u pull it out.

Re: Show me your fuel cell
I will go with one of the aftermarket gas tank with foam and sender I had enough of metal gas tank gets rusted so fast cause of the humidity over here and if I get stock tank I need to sump it so I can save up time and headache and just go with race gas tank and call it a day

Re: Show me your fuel cell
Suburban tanks will not fit on a short bed truck. Blazer tanks will fit. They come in 25 and 31 gallons.

Re: Show me your fuel cell
Here you go, my pics usually don't stay up for more than a day.
Picture of the behemoth in the paint booth to give you an idea of the size Fuel pump and fuel sending unit are in and ready... Here is a side shot I had. You can see how well that thing tucks up in the back. Now I only have to stop at the gas station once every two weeks (it's a daily driver), love it, and great on long road trips. |

Re: Show me your fuel cell
Ooops, I said NWP and I should have said NWMP which stands for North West Metal Products. They are up in the Washington state area. I'd put a link up but don't know of that's allowed.
If you google it they have a website that lists all their applications. They make auxilary and stock replacement (but oversized) gas tanks for alot of different applications, blazers, trucks, burbs, broncos, you name it. Super nice people to deal with, they are car people just like us. Can make them out of any material you wish, but Galvanized (which is what I bought) is their most popular as it's cheaper to manufacture and won't rust. He's been making them for over 30 years and told me he does that blazer tank I bought about 2-3 times a month. I didn't think there were that many 69-72 blazers running around |
