who's running a KP cantilever? experiences and pictures

My brother and I considered running this set up with his C10, but the 2 downfalls to it were the frame tends to bend where the bag mounts (bracing fixes this issue though), and the rear dog bones hang low, especially if running big wheels. Niether of these are real deal breakers, but he's going with the PB set up instead now...mainly due to the fact that you can't see the dog bones.

Flex noted, don't mind parts being exposed. Nice look to me

It's a nice kit and looks pretty cool. The one drawback that I see is that the bags are located pretty far behind the notch putting a lot of leverage on it. It will flex a little as mentioned. If you're going for cool factor it's a neat set-up.

I was thinking about the added needed to move the leverage, so I thought I have ss7's for the front but should run a wider bag in the rear for a kp?

I have only installed a couple, and we used the 7s from Slam. A different bag will not eliminate the flex, as it is inherent in the design. With all the weight being carried behind the notch, it will have flex regardless of which bags you go with.

Please don't misinterpret my comments. The kit works, and is pretty trick looking with all the mechanical parts.

Are you talking about flex in the frame? I thought that's what you meant, but I was talking about since the bag is placer further away from the axle it would take more energy to raise the truck in the rear. So I was thinking of running like a ss8. My thought process was wider bag required less psi to achieve same lift

And I appreciate the conversation. I love to learn, and get an understanding of why/why not

The flex I am referring to is in the frame, at the notch. With the weight of the rear half of the truck being supported behind the notch, it puts a lot of stress and leverage on the notch making it flex more than it would with different configurations. This can be minimized by extra bracing located in the correct places.

I wouldn't bother going with an 8" bag.

I am running one with the Porterbuilt frontend. It seems to ride pretty good, never had a bagged truck b4. If Nate had his when I originally bought mine I would have just ordered it all in one place. Only issue I have had is with the notch for the drive shaft. I had to trim it, raise it up and weld it since it was hitting the drive shaft.

Been building and learning as I go for the past few years. Doing it on my own. I am running Poly, just had to make sure they are greased.
