New Project Chevy AD truck

Picked this up back last winter but just got rolling on it good about 2 weeks ago. Its starting to come together though. S-10 Chassis bagged with 2 '' drop spindles up front. 4 linked in the back with bags as well. Planning on a 4.8 LS fuel injected swap. 20's and more than likely heat and a/c.

Got the 4 link tacked up and in place just gotta make a few gussets for a couple of areas on it. Also went ahead and made the front bumper brackets and got it mounted. Still gotta get spacers for my front wheels to space the properly. Just about ready to sit the motor in and work all that out. More pics to come.

The bag brackets were ordered. The other brackets I have a guy here local make and we cut and thread our own DOM tubing and make our own rod ends.

The burb is on a stock chassis with a mustang 2 front. It has a s10 rear with leaf springs. The drivetrain is a 350/700r. The bare metal just has an oil on it called linseed oil. You can buy it at home depot or lowes. It holds up pretty well. I still go back over it with a scotch brite pad and re oil every so often. The clear just puts to much shine on it for my taste. This oil dulls down a good bit after it has been on there for a bit and still protects the metal from rusting pretty good.

Thanks for the details. Yes, I was going to also guess oil and a scotchbrite pad. I agree about the clear comment. A satin or flat clear would not be as bad a gloss clear.

Again sweet ride.
Good luck with your truck.

Marc

Love the stance on the truck, do you have pics of your cab mounts, and how high off the frame does the cab sit?

Re: New Project Chevy AD truck

Well I have been working on the truck still pretty steady. I have got the floor and tunnel completed. Still lots of grinding to do.

Name: Floor.jpg
Views: 4312

I also got my gas tank mounted and hung in place behind the rear end.

Name: Gas tank.jpg
Views: 4900
Size: 51.2 KB

As well as the Dual Viar compressors and the air tank. The are mounted in front of the rear end to each side of the driveshaft.

I wanted to keep everything below the bed floor. I plan on plumbing all of my air ride out of 3/8'' copper tubing.

Planning on tearing the truck back down this weekend. Lots of welding and grinding ahead of me.

Looks good! What size tires are on there now and how far off the frame did you mount the cab?
