Does the Cowl Vent get paint?

Restoring the area under my cowl, and just got my new vent in the mail. See pic. My question is was this originally a factory painted part (same as body color) or was it left unpainted? I know it doesn't really show, but I've always tried to put things back like they came and It would always bug me if it was wrong..., thanks!

Re: Does the Cowl Vent get paint?

I don't have my Blazer at work, but I'm pretty sure mine's not painted. What paint is left on my truck is mostly factory, so I don't think the factory painted them.

If memory serves, it's unpainted.

Has yours ever been out? This is the fresh air flapper which is under the cowl, not inside the cab.

Any body got a pic of an original one?

I put mine in just like I got it but painting it sure wouldn't hurt.

Re: Does the Cowl Vent get paint?

Now that I think about it the broken OE one in my parts truck was not body color. I think I still have it somewhere.

Cool, if you find it send me a pic of it. Still waiting for the used flapper and other parts i bought, hoping the old (broken one) will tell me something also.
