Spring shackles
Ok guys i need some help. I have a 1972 GMC 1/2 ton 2wd and it has rear leaf spring suspension. Does anyone know where I can get some new spring shackles? I've tried LMC and Brothers they don't carry them. Thank y'all for the help.

Re: Spring shackles
I might have the stock shackles I took off of my 1972 GMC 1500 Super Custom. I installed a set of 2" drop shackles from CPP in there instead. I just recently moved so I have everything in my shop either still in boxes or in an exploded mess in the corner. There is a chance that they got pitched...
I'll dig for 'em. If I find 'em... they're yours for the cost of shipping. They'll need new bushings. As these were pretty worn out. Gary

Re: Spring shackles
GM just recently depleted these from stock. I know some aftermarket companies make them, just don't know who to tell you.

Re: Spring shackles
I saw those but I bought 3 inch drop leaf springs and saw the shackles were 1 to 2 in drop. If I did those would I have c notch the frame since it will make it a 4 inch drop in the rear?

Re: Spring shackles
Okey doke... anyways... my offer still stands. If I find the stockers off of my '72... you can have them.
Check my reply in post #2. Gary

Re: Spring shackles
i used 73 and up stock shackles.the later springs are 1/4 inch wider so i tack welded two 1/8 inch flat washers to the inside ...the bushing on the frame bracket is the right size .don't remember where i got them but it was brothers or year one i think...wondered why the drop shackles fit early and late but stock didn't....guess the're flimsy enough to tighten that extra 1/4
