16 or 20 gallon?

I'm converting my LWB 85 to SWB and assumed I would need to use the short bed fuel tanks. Now after dropping the tanks I can't see any difference between my 86 tanks and my doner 80 SWB tanks.
Don't all LWB trucks come with 20 gallon tanks?
Will 20 gallon tanks fit on a SWB C10?
The 86 LWB tank is on the right.
1980 SWB tank on the left.

Re: 16 or 20 gallon?

They are 43 inches.
Notice the gap between the tank and spring hanger..

So this must be a 16 gallon tank in my LWB.

Re: 16 or 20 gallon?

Yup 16 gallon in hour lwb
You could get the 16 and save some weight or
Get the 20 get some more mileage out of each tank

Re: 16 or 20 gallon?

My 85 LWB came factory with dual 16's and my 78 LWB has a single 20. Wasn't all that uncommon to find a LWB with 16's....

Re: 16 or 20 gallon?

My understanding is
All Swb trucks came with 16 gal
All lwb single tank came with 16 and 20 gal depending on trim package
All lwb dual tank came with 2x 16 gal tanks with dual 20gal tanks optional
