Cool USA horns!

I know they aren't the real deal but I haven't been able to find a real set that worked. .
These will do for now though.
I can't wait til I get them on and pull up into my dad's drive way and play them.
For the younger crowd here the real deal horn was made popular by Dinah Shore back in the late 50's early 60's.

LYRICS

See the USA in your Chevrolet
America is asking you to call
Drive your Chevrolet through the USA
America's the greatest land of all

On a highway, or a road along the levy
Performance is sweeter, nothing can beat her
Life is completer in a Chevy

So make a date today to see the USA
And see it in your Chevrolet

Traveling East, Travelling West
Wherever you go Chevy service is best
Southward or North, near place or far
There's a Chevrolet dealer for your Chevrolet car

So make a date today to see the USA
And see it in your Chevrolet.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: USA horns!

That would be cool!
I put a twist on that in my signature by changing "SEE" to "SERVE",since trucks were built to serve us. But,if you look closer, you'll see I color coded it so it still says "SEE" in there and also says "RV",because if you did see the USA in a truck it would likely have been a in a camper truck. I did this with my family back in '89. We didn't see the USA but we drove from Maryland, through the South, and out to the Southwest in a '71 Custom Camper. Something families were doing when I was a kid.

EDIT: Hmmm...I see there's no color i my signature anymore...huh.oh well. It sued to be that way with red SEE and blue RV. Use your imagination

Re: USA horns!

There is color in the sig I see.
I also took a trip in my dad's camper back when I was 10 are so. We spent his whole 4 weeks vacation in that camper in the picture with him in it.
It was his company truck and had to put miles on it I guess.
I sure would like a orignal horn but I have never found one.

Re: USA horns!

I remember those horns,BTW. My son was 10 when we took our trip out west. Great memories these trucks with campers bring,eh?

I think I must have some different font or whatever that I didn't used to have.

Wink Re: USA horns!

Yea those trucks were neat. When we got to the outer banks I slept in the front of the cab the first night. That was a mistake! Had the windows cracked and got eat up by Mosquito's.
My dad almost bought that one in the picture but with 7 kids he decided not to. Heck he could get one anytime he wanted it.

Re: USA horns!

All these old camper trucks we see have many stories to tell. Most just see an old 3/4t,but that's how I look at them all. I sure kept my screens in good shape, and it was hurry up and close that door! We probably did most of our camping at the beach, from Assateague Island,to the Outer Banks, and on down to your beautiful state as far as Edisto Island.

That pic is so cool. Makes me think of my dad back in the mid to late 60's. Remember how classy everyone dressed, even for work...

Cool Re: USA horns!

Got the horns mounted and wired up. They will hear me now!
I took the factory horn loose and ran the wire to the new horns. They have a toggle switch that allows u to either blow just the one big horn are flip the switch and play the USA. Cool. I hid them under the cold air intake and wired them off a relay to get plenty of juice to them. I'll try and get a video of them tomorrow are whenever I get a chance to.
