Its been twleve years, but Yeller finally sees the road!

It took me 12 years (marriage, kids, finances, home improvements, etc) to get to this point, but I finally got yeller back on the road and man does it feel good! So far I have 16 miles on the odometer, hope to add a few more before snow flies. Most of the miles have been carb/transmission tuning, but judging by how well the 454/700 are responding, I think I am close! I will post up some interior/engine bay shots soon, I still have a few loose ends to tie up before however. Until then, hope you like them, and thanks to everyone who has given me a hand along the way!

Looks great, Jeff ! Maybe I'll have to meet you sometime and see it in person and talk about you Autometer gauge set ups. I'm from Hudson, WI. You should be proud of your truck....it sounds like my story for my K5 Blazer....I hope to have it ready by Spring. Maybe we can meet with both our rides next year and discuss our builds.

The exhaust is 3" from front to rear, its a tight fit, but sure does look nice underneath, and it sounds pretty good.

Ultra clean build. The shaved bumpers seal the deal. Just awesome.

Re: Its been twleve years, but Yeller finally sees the road!

Thanks everyone, appreciate the feedback!

Body mods are as follows:
Shaved trim, emblems, mirrors, cab seam, door locks, bumper bolts, stake pockets, vent windows, and fuel doors. The 73 never had drip rails, and the tailgate handle was relocated...but I didn't smooth the gate itself, just the outside handle. Although it isn't visible in the photos, the firewall was also shaved.

Re: Its been twleve years, but Yeller finally sees the road!

cory_d (& others), stake pockets are shaved too.

That is a great looking truck, very well done. The time spent was worth it, doesn't look like any corners were cut.

EDIT: Oops, teaches me not to refresh a webpage before commenting after having it open for hours.
