camper wire harness
wondering if anyone can identify what year this is correct for? instructions are dated 1972, but the pictured truck does not look like ours (67-72) and mentions installation for a standard cab as well as a crewcab. part #994472
will it work for a 67-72? what is it worth? |

Re: camper wire harness
Brian - Doesn't look correct for 67-72 - at least the camper end differs. I can post pics of the firewall end of a correct camper harness to see how it compares if that will help. Pete

Re: camper wire harness
After seeing your pics, I think it may be correct, the connection at the fire wall appears to be the same. I will post pictures and we can compare. Thanks again.

Re: camper wire harness
What's the camper end look like? Got skunked this weekend - only bulls no cows.

Re: camper wire harness
Here's the firewall end of a correct camper harness - I have two others somewhere with intact camper ends but can't find these at the moment

Re: camper wire harness
The end for the camper is bare. I think you need to add whatever connection you need for your specific camper. They look the same at the fire wall.
What do you think this NOS harness is worth. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: camper wire harness
Wow Brian that's a cool find. I've got no really good idea what this should fetch. I've seen used go for $50-100 though. As for the camper end, I suspect GM installed a "plug" for lack of a better word rather than leave bare wires on the trucks with factory installed camper harnesses - I have one here (somewhere!) that is intact with the plug and another that's cut but came with the plug: both look like that in the pic below. I agree though, installing an end to adapt to whatever camper you're using should be easy. I may try to rig a harness to have 12V plug on the end to allow a power source in the bed powered off an aux battery.
