Narrowed Porterbuilt Arms-Now Bags Rub-HELP!!

I bought some Porterbuilt narrowed arms, started assembly now bags are rubbing my spindles. Also the nuts on the top arm only have a couple rounds on them and I don't think even if I shimmed them to where the nut is now that it would make a difference. The bags are Dominator 2600s would Slam Specialties get me out of this bind?????

Re: Narrowed Porterbuilt Arms-Now Bags Rub-HELP!!

How does it fit when fully assembled? How much were the arms narrowed?

My arms have been narrowed 1", the bags are slam specialties and the drop spindles are McGaughy's 2-1/2". As you can see there are no rubbing issues.

Have you fully assembled the suspension yet? If so do you have any pics? I am running an early DM as well.

I think it would be fine once you fully bolt in the bag it will sit a lot lower then that.

Re: Narrowed Porterbuilt Arms-Now Bags Rub-HELP!!

Thanks for all the input guys. I will work on it in the AM. Lolife99 I currently don't have shocks yet so I will just cross my fingers that when I bolt the bag on bottom that it will work. If all goes well before I mount the body I can buy some
SS bags still. Thats what Nate recommends if I recall correctly.

Just make sure you support the lower a-arm,... or set the chassis on the ground.
Don't let it hang by the bag.
The shocks are the limiting factor to prevent damage to the air bag.

yep, put it together, you wont have a problem. in that pic you'll never be that "high" unless you run hydraulics instead of bags

What source of information are you basing your statement on? I bought both my arms as well as my dropmember directly from Nate, so i'll have to disagree with that statement.

You are not suppose to run the "Forward Series" arms with the Dropmember.
The narrowed arms are fine.

As for the OP's question,...
bolt your lower a-arm to the bag and install the shock.
Then tell me if you have any interference.
You will never get that much lift to make the upper part of the spindle come into contact with the bag.
