electric fan relay
Where are you guys placing you electric fan relays? I was thinking of making a box on the core support to house them in, but the instructions say to place them in a dry place like under the dash. Just seems like a long distance from the fans, but what do I know. The horn relay is under there. What have you done. I kind of wanted to hide the wiring to some degree.

Re: electric fan relay
I bought one of these. I'll put fan relays, and my headlight relays in it.
Right now I plan to mount it to the core support where the voltage regulator mounts. I am changing to an internally regulated alternator, so I figured that would be a good spot. Once I put the front clip back on I'll make the final decision. If you go this route, just make sure you order terminals and seals for this box, they don't come with it.

Re: electric fan relay
I always use GM fan relays and put them under the hood just like the General did. The oval ones from the 90s are the best. If you can find a dual-fan Olds 88 or 98 (or similar) from that era, you have most of the harness already done for you.

Re: electric fan relay
I have my fan relay and the head lights all mounted on the support where the old voltage relay was. The picture was before I had the fan relay installed.

Re: electric fan relay
I was able to take the guts out of a old external voltage regulator, and use the box to mount my relays in. Just needed to cut a notch in the bottom to clear the electrical plug. It is a somewhat sealed box, and can be mounted in the stock location. I put one on each side of the core support
