Howdy from Vancouver, WA
Greetings. My name is Vince, I live in Vancouver, Washingtona and I've been a Chevy truck fan for many, many years! (Sounds like I'm joining a 12 step program) I've owned several Chev/GMC trucks over the years. I currently have a '99 Tahoe as my daily driver, but the real reason I'm on this site is because of my newest project.
Through some swapping/trading, I got my hands on a 1980 C10 SWB. It's pretty stock, OK shape, recently sbc 350 rebuild, so it actually runs very well. I've got many plans for this, which will happen in phases as money/time allows. At the end of the first phase (by this spring), it will be lowered and ready for cruise in's. Eventually it will be painted and have all it's problems fixed, but for right now it will be just an 'under construction' runner. I'll post my progress on the build forrum. I used to have an '83 swb that I showed fairly successfully. My new project, however, will not be a show truck. It will be a little rough around the edges and as that new car show from Texas says, it will be fast and loud! I know I'll learn a ton of good stuff from everyone here. Thanks in advance for all of your collective knowledge. |

Here's a couple of pics. This is how it looked the day I brought it home. I've made some progress and will add more pics to my build thread.

Re: Howdy from Vancouver, WA
Thanks Tony. Ya, that is my favorite body style. I do like the older ones also. In fact, I learned to drive on a 1968 GMC 1/2 ton, straight 6 with 3 on the tree. It was manual everything. My Dad figured if I could drive that, I could drive anything.
