Re: Craiglist find

Look at the bed floor, it lived a hard life at some point. The resto may be nice, but it's still a resto and the market for these trucks is soft...one sold on here this year almost factory perfect for $6500 and it took a little while.

Unless you ask, you will never receive fruits for your labor. Were you going to make him an offer?

Re: Craiglist find

I would take a close look at the firewall for rust. It's hard to tell in the pic, but the seam you can see just above the air cleaner looks a little queationable. I have had a couple of tucks that were rusty in the same spot. Also, it looks like the driver side door pins made need to be replaced as the door appears to be sagging. Other than that, it's a nice looking truck and I don't doubt that the seller put a lot of money into it.

do you know about how much it would cost to restore a truck like this?

Asking good money for your work and being delusional are two different things.

You can set my truck on fire and roll it down a hill,
and I still wouldn't trade it for a Coupe de Ville.

Re: Craiglist find

the other reason i ask is because i have a 1977 chevy pick-up but im not a big fan of the front end and i wanted to know if it would be better to change the front end to an 1984 or 1991 front clip or sell my truck and look for an original truck

Re: Craiglist find

L ove how folks will eagerly jump in and say thats "way to high" yet fail to offer what they think a fair price might be.

At a glance, the asking price seems a little steep based on the poor quality of some of the pics. If an inspection shows that the paint is premium quality, and it appears the body work was done correctly, thats not to far out of line.

I would inspect it from every angle. Looking in, under, and around for rust or signs of patch panels. look under the trim, molding, and between the bed to see if corners were cut on the paint job.

Inspect it from top to bottom and make an informed decision. I see it to be a 8500.00 based on the pics. In person, it might be worth more. Anything above 10k is questionable.

Well, since I'm guilty of that...I'd put it at 4k, maybe 5 at absolute max. At least, that is around what it would sell for locally.
