73-75 Bucket Seat Disassembly?

Ok. So I bought a set of buckets off CL. Today I started disassembly but got stuck at the foams. Not wanting to ruin anything I stopped and now I'm asking you guys...

The foams have the springs encased in them. How do I take them apart? Should I just carefully cut the foams away from the springs or is there another way I'm not seeing? Being a BMW mechanic, I'm no stranger to hog rings, foam and upholstery. I just don't want this to get any worse than it is. I will be converting the seats to 71-72 foams but I want to keep the originals in good shape in case anyone needs them because they are in pretty good shape for their age.
