66 c10 factory color and beauty rings
Just picked up a 66 c10 fleetside longbed.
It its light blue with some patina. Does anyone know what the factory blue paint was called? Also, will any 15" beauty ring fit these stock wheels? Thanks, Joe Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 66 c10 factory color and beauty rings
Welcome to the forum. Here’s a link to an easy to use color library:
http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/ Just type in Chevy Truck and 1966 and you should end up at this page showing the various 1966 colors offered: http://www.tcpglobal.com/aclchip.asp...truck-pg01.jpg The early 40’s-50’s style hot rod trim rings will fit just fine. Later 1960’s designs (like Corvette for example) probably won’t because the rings are deeper than the face of the wheels. It’s a trial and error process, or ask around at the next rod run when you see something you like on a car or truck.

When I bought my Suburban it had like new beauty rings installed on the stock 15" wheels. Taking them off was the very first thing I did to the truck after it became mine. I'm not sure if these were available as an accessory in those years or not. |

Re: 66 c10 factory color and beauty rings
Thanks!
This was it when I first got it. I painted the top white and took a grinder to those thin whitewalls I picked it up for 2,000 about 50 miles from where I live and was able to drive it home. Stock 250 3 speed on column. I had to replace the carrier bearing on the 2 piece drive shaft right after I got it. And I still need to throw on the new valve cover gasket I have because its leaking from the old one. Other than that it is a mechanically sound truck and not rusted into pieces like most of these NC trucks are. I think I made out pretty well for 2,000 Posted via Mobile Device |
