51 Chevy P/U
Recently joined brought my new barn find 51 Chevy P/U. Little experience but alot of ambition. Take it easy on me as I will probably ask alot of questions over the next few years.
My plan is to do a frame swap with an S10. Have the 92 frame and the 51 truck. It all starts now! Dave 51x51 |

Re: 51 Chevy P/U
The truck doesn't look that bad at all in the pics. Is the frame totally toast?

Re: 51 Chevy P/U
@ 1ATony ....The truck is actually in very good Eastern Washington shape (pretty dry environment for those who don't know what that means). A really good runner with what appears to be a no leaks rebuilt engine and 3 on the tree. The frame is in very good shape. The guy I got it from didn't question what I was planning to do but I could tell he may not have approved. Probably makes more sense to some that you would restore this one because of the shape it's in. Small rust pinhole in one cab corner and small rust through spot in passenger floorboard. Other than that it is what I was looking for. I wanted the barn find look and the modern ride and performance. For what I paid for the truck I currently have no regrets. We'll see as time goes by.
Most likely there will be a running chassis for sale sometime this spring. |

Re: 51 Chevy P/U
Got to the point where life slowed me down and progress stopped.
Fast forward from that point. Good friend owns a shop/facility locally and he invited me to finish my build with his assistance and expertise as help. Godspeed Fabrication, Auburn , WA |
