Dash color
On the part of the dash where the speaker grill & defrost vents are should it be painted body color or is it a low satan black looking for the factory original look ? Thanks

Re: Dash color
That part is always the same color as the dash pad, not necessarily body color. And always satin. Definitely not Satan!

The boys at GM made that part not shiny on purpose.

Re: Dash color
We painted mine body color then wet sanded the shine off of it. Mrein3 is correct, if you don't you will be seeing it in the windshield. This is also much easier to do without the windshield in.

Re: Dash color
There never seems to be a real answer to this question. For what it's worth, mine was painted same color as the dash pad (Sandalwood).

Re: Dash color
Interior cab colors is something I have posted on before several times. The cab does have a flattened paint forward of the dash. It should be a similar shade to the cab interior trim in most cases.
The Ditzler color cards carry the application and paint codes keyed to the GM interior trim code on the back side. Look for (2) Upper Instrument Panel. Here is a 72 card as an example.
