my 81 turned 86 c10 hotrod project!!

first off i would just like to say thanks for adding me to the forum!!

little bit about me, im dustin, 19 years old, located in biloxi MS.

i bought me an 81 chevy c10 swb with a 350 almost a year ago.
heres after i put these wheels on it.

has alot of rust on the cab, rockers, near the door hinges etc.

about a three months ago i went and bought a 86 roller for cheap!

has a little surface rust but it is a heck of a lot better shape!!

anyways we pulled the rusted cab off, and bed and proceeded with the swap.

and today i went ahead and put my roll pan back on

and im also working on cleaning up and repairing the previous owners wiring hack job...

its time consuming but i think i have it down pat now.

im in the process of getting another sbc 350 ready to put back into my truck since the one i bought is now rod knocking.

oh, and i also put in a mini spool this past october.

my plan for the truck is to go ahead and get the bodywork done and get it ready for primer and paint.
also i plan on lowering it with drop spindles and springs, and a flip kit in the rear end.
going to build a mild 383 stroker, alum heads, cam and probably a 2500 stall converter.

i have to say working on an old truck like this is so much fun and i cant wait until the final outcome!!!!

Haha mine runs strong but the whole front end needs replaced. Ball joints bushings tie rods everything.

i hate tackling that stuff. the only thing i really have to replace on the front end is one of my sway bar bushings on the lower control arm. the metal bracket has been torn.
