crossmember to frame braces
I was at the salvage yard the other day looking for a big sway bar. I found one on a dually(which also had a rear bar). This truck also had a pair of rods that ran from the center of the crossmember to the ends of the frame rails near the swaybar/body mount. Are the steering braces or are they more for the swaybar? The 82-92 f-bodies with a big bar all got "wonderbars" to brace the swaybar mounts. Are these something similar?

Re: crossmember to frame braces
By chance did you happen to snap a pic?
My C-30 doesn't have anything like this, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a dealer option or part of a tow package.

Re: crossmember to frame braces
I got a large swaybar off an 86 dually. It had what you are describing too.

Not my picture, hope I don't offend anyone. The rods can be seen in the first picture of post #8 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=554445
