Big Block / Small Block mounts
I'm working on a 68 Chevy pickup that has a small block in it. However, it's mounted in the forward holes of the cross member leaving several inches between the engine and the firewall. I believe this is the big block mounting location.
I plan to move it back to the proper location but, I'm not sure if the steel brackets between the rubber motor mounts and the cross member are the same for both locations. Are there different brackets for small blocks and big blocks or do the same brackets work in different holes in the cross member? Thanks, Don |

Re: Big Block / Small Block mounts
Welcome to the forums all v8 used the front hole the rear hole were for the 6. The front holes should be correct for your small block. Big block, small block and the 6 all used different frame stands

Re: Big Block / Small Block mounts
Thanks for the info.
So, I guess the location is correct for a small block after all. The local "experts" told me it was wrong. Does this look right to you? Last edited by DRD57; 02-20-2013 at 03:36 PM. |
