before and after cupped control arms
I was looking for some pics of how much of a difference this would make and couldn't find much. So here are my before and after pics. my truck was fully bagged but nothing done to the front to lay lower (bags sitting on cup in arm). My bumper was still 10.5 inches off the ground with bags fully deflated. After cupping the arms 2.5" the front bumper sits 7" off the ground. Looks like I may be able to go about another .25-.5 lower cause the tires are hitting the wheel wells right now.
before- front bumber at 10.5" off ground. sorry so dark |

Re: before and after cupped control arms
After shot- bumper now sitting 7" off the ground. I think trimming the wheel wells and some drop spindles will keep me satisfied for a while

Re: before and after cupped control arms
Right on guys! Yeah I love how this truck looks stock. Only thing I'm gonna change is after body work I'll prob just do the white sections in flat/ satin white. That way it'll be easier to touch up. That and the last owner already butchered the dash to put a $50 head unit in

Most recent all polished up with my new bullets that did not go in very easily.

That's what I want for Christmas. Ironadict, can you post pics of your engine bay? Did you remove your inner fenders? |

Thanks guys. Hell yeah fender had to go along with other ****. Here's some pics. Cross member is sitting on a brick so the tire isn't raised all the way up in these.

Re: before and after cupped control arms
These are last years pics of the engine bay, but I'm sure you get the idea. as it stands now, I'm in the process of removing the engine to replace the old pan/pick up tube. It hangs 1-2 inches below the front cross member. When the my truck is aired out, it touches the floor. I also rewired the 1971 c10 with a new harness from Speedway. It came out pretty good. My lq4/th400 needed an updated power source. I saw the electrical fire, in the engine bay, with my owns eyes.

Re: before and after cupped control arms
So this is how my 68 lwb will sit with drop spindles, cupped lca, bags and a simple bagged/notched rear end? (Coil truck no leafs)
What shocks are you running? are they stock positions or relocated? |

Re: before and after cupped control arms
Tree- yeah as long as the back is notched high enough and fenders and wall is chopped enough. Also hinges will need to be changed for tire clearance. My lca are cupped 2.5". Up front are stock shocks with relocated mounts. In rear is just some cheap Monroes I picked up obviously with relocated mounts also.

Re: before and after cupped control arms
The hinges I used are a mercedes clk trunk hinge. I saw a pic of another c10 on here that used em so I found a used pair. Porter built makes a good hinge for our trucks but they are pricy.
