Re: Door window glass install ??

well if the old stuff is still in here is how I took mine out and then just put it back in backwards from the way you take it out, im sure if some one has a better way they will chime in.........take all the screws out of the vent window I think there is 3 up top and two at the bottom......take the screws out of the rear channel at the bottom this will let you slide it back and then put the window the whole way down and slide it back to the rear of the door as far as you can go........pull vent window out.......you crank window up a couple of inches till the rollers line up with the open slot on the bottom of the window frame, you might have to slide glass front or back to get them to line up.....pop glass off of rollers then pull glass out.......the unscrew regulator and pull it out........reverse order to put it back together. Havent took a regulator out in a while but have taken glass and vent windows out lately and thats how I do mine.

Yep, you got it......vent window is first to come out, then last to go in. Otherwise you will never get the glass in or out.

Re: Door window glass install ??

Personally, I find gravity fights me during the install of the door window glass. Easiest for me is with the door laying flat off the truck. Only takes me a few minutes to assemble it that way since I'm not fighting gravity and those darn rollers into the unseen track on the regulator. Not that I can't do it with them on the truck just quicker for me and half of the time spent.

Re: Door window glass install ??

Put the regulator in first and screw it in then put the door glass in.....you prob going to have to put the regulator the whole way down and if your not getting enough room unbolt the rear window track down at the bottom that will let you have some more room to move window......then put in vent window and it goes in from the the inside of the door if you know what i meen, the door has to be open and you stand in between the door and the truck.....leave that rear track unscrewed until you get the vent window in

Re: Door window glass install ??

I'm a bit confused, I was taking apart my door and the first thing I did was take the roll down glass out(loosened the bottom of the rear channel first). it was a bear but I couldn't see how it would be possible to remove the rest otherwise. also, I didn't know if I shoulda had the regulator up, down or inbetween. I got it apart with no casualties, but I am a bit unclear about reassembly as well.
