95 Blazer, Programing Keyless Remote Question

The keyless remote for my 95 Blazer died, so I bought 2 new ones. I'm trying to figure out how to program them. The instructions say that there is a drop down panel under the drivers side of the dash. There is supposed to be two red wires going into a plug that I connect together with an insulated wire to activate the programing mode. The only panel that I see is the one with screws across the front to the left of the steering column. I've loosened the screws to that drop down panel, but I don't see the wires that I need to jump. I need help here or maybe a picture of what I should be seeing. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Eddie

Re: 95 Blazer, Programing Keyless Remote Question

I found these instructions.
Instructions

1 Look under the driver side dashboard for a panel that opens down. Inside, you'll see two wires leading into a red piece. This is called the "programming connector." It has two insertion points.

2 Insert the bare ends of an insulated wire into the insertion points. The car's computer will lock and unlock the power locks to signal to you that you have successfully entered the programming mode. A paper clip or hairpin may suffice, if they are sufficiently conductive.

3 Press one button on every keyless remote you want to program. The car will cycle the locks after each successful programming.

4 Remove the jump wire from the programming connector to exit the programming mode.

Another set:
1. Locate the red two wired programming connector located near the central
locking control module that is located behind LH Lower instrument panel
Drop the panel and you will see the red programming connector that is not
connected to anything.

2. Inside the Red programming connector you will see to pins..
Jump two pins with a section of wire.

3. System should now lock and unlock doors to indicate vehicle has entered
programming mode.

4. Press any button on keyless remote once. System should now lock and unlcok
doors indicating the keyless remote has been programmed.

5. Repeat step 4 to program other remote.

6. Remove jumper wire from programming connector to exit programming mode.

7. Test Remote(s)

Re: 95 Blazer, Programing Keyless Remote Question

gchemist, Is the panel that opens down the same one I'm refering to? The only panel that I see is screwed in to place. It is located to the left of the steering column in front of the OBD connector. A panel that opens down makes me think of something hindged with a latch. I'll look at it again when it gets home.
