drive shaft length
I am restoring a 65 chevy swb. I have the short 3 speed transmission in it. I have a driveshaft from another swb but the driveshaft is to short. I have a spare transmission that is the longer 3 speed but I have the one in the truck cleaned and painted with new seals and hate to pull it out. I did not know that there were two different length drive shafts for these short bed trucks. Does anybody know the length of the longer drive shaft?

Re: drive shaft length
I think there is a Muncie and a Saganaw. The one I have is the Muncie and it has a short tail shaft. The Saganaw has the long tail shaft. I measured today and the long tail shaft would work with the driveshaft I have but I will have to change yokes on the shaft because the long transmission has the fine splines and the shaft has the course splines.
