C-20 & C-10 Frames???
I have a 69 C-20, now does anyone know if the Frames are the same as the C-10 Frames and just the Suspension is different, or are they completely different Frames?
Thanks! |

Re: C-20 & C-10 Frames???
They are basically the same if you are talking about ones with trailing arms. I think that the 3/4 ton frames are a little heavier gauge, have extra bracing at the trailing arm cross member and the trailing arms have plates welded on them.
Also the rear cab mounts are lower on the frame to allow thicker rear cab mounts to give a smoother ride in the cab.

Re: C-20 & C-10 Frames???
Understand, that is a direction I can't help you with. But if I were cutting down a frame a C20 frame is going to be a lot stiffer (~23%) and would seem better able to withstand local loads it was never designed for.

Re: C-20 & C-10 Frames???
The GM published numbers are up above. Yes the frame is a little taller, about 0.070". The big improvement is that it is just over 25% thicker 0.194" vs 0.156".
