Header solution : Flowtech shorty for 1967-69 Camaro / Chevelle
Fits like a freakin glove. Tucks up into the frame and clears the motor mounts perfectly on my 1970 GMC 1500 2WD.
AND they are cheap at $140. No leaks Check my build thread in my signature for pictures. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Header solution : Flowtech shorty for 1967-69 Camaro / Chevelle
Quick question....which are better for low end torque....long tube or short tube headers?
Yours were 'shorties' correct? thanks Coley

Does it look like these or the Sanderson's would clear a clutch linkage? TIA

Re: Header solution : Flowtech shorty for 1967-69 Camaro / Chevelle
Guys have been running the car headers (since before Flowtech existed) as a solution for ground clearance concerns on lowered trucks.

No,these car headers run right through that area...unfortunately. I generally run full length headers and never had any that hung below the frame.

Re: Header solution : Flowtech shorty for 1967-69 Camaro / Chevelle
The main reason I posted this is because every week I see people asking what headers to use, and the answers are always so vague. I thought the title would be something people would see when they did a search looking for answers.

Re: Header solution : Flowtech shorty for 1967-69 Camaro / Chevelle
This thread is helpful and what it's all about here on this sight. Any header I've bought with a part# listed for 67-72 GM Truck in either 2wd or 4wd has fit just fine. The only issue I've had,and the only thing that continues to remain vague,is what header fits with manual transmission. I have never seen a thread where a definitive answer has been given. I have lucked out (now I don't know which ones they were or they're no longer made) and I have had to move the lower arm on the bell crank. I do know a header that has the driver side rear tube drop straight down or slightly forward will pass down in front of the clutch linkage. The only question then is whether it turns back at a low enough point to be below the linkage. And,if it does run below,is it in the path of the lower arm or to one side? This is where I've moved the lower arm.
