SWB Frame
There is a possibility that I might acquire a '68 SWB in the near future for next to nothing. The body is in really rough shape, so I'm mostly interested in the truck for the frame. I figure I could strip it bare and rebuild it with all new components the way I want. This will allow me to work on it as time and money are available and most importantly, let me continue driving my '69 LWB until the SWB frame is done. The question I have is this: After I strip the frame down to nothing (framerails and crossmembers) and set it on jackstands, how will I make adjustments if it isn't square? I know how to measure for squareness. But since I don't have access (or the money) to a frame table, can any of you suggest an "in-the-garage" solution?

Sounds like a plan. After the frame is stripped things will be a lot clearer. Unless the truck has been in a wreck or if there is evidence of frame damage the frame table will not be an issue. If there is evidence of damage I would look elsewhere. The frames on these trucks are pretty tough. Buy a 71 or72 short rolling chassis and build it up from there. The early model frames may not have the dent in the frame for the power steering and the crossmember won't have the brake line brackets besides you will want disc's up front anyway. Get it the way you want it and then make the sheet metal swap. Have fun
