OK, I need some opinions
I really like the look of a fender mounted spare tire.
A few things: 1) Do you think this truck would look good with one? 2) If so, does anyone have a fender that I could buy? 3) Post some pics of 2nd series trucks with fender mount spares |

Re: OK, I need some opinions
I entirely agree with Meter Swinger... you'd sure want the new fender paint to match, though. There's lots of very nice 'bling' on your TF.

Re: OK, I need some opinions
I vote a huge NO on the fender mounted spare. I know that some folks like them but I think they look out of place on a TF.

Re: OK, I need some opinions
I think they look good on long beds, not so much on short beds. I don't even know if there is enough room for one on a short bed.

I don't like them unless it's a work truck.

Re: OK, I need some opinions
i personally prefer a clean regular fender on the stepsides, always have. The factory spare tire holder looks great on a stock ride height stock trimmed truck like the blue 58 GMC above shows, but yours looks pretty damn straight and clean the way it is

Re: OK, I need some opinions
I generally prefer the "without look" too. I agree with it looking better on longbeds too.
But on that GMC above it looks appropo because they had the over-the-top grills and this one has the "dolled-up-to-the-max" whitewalls, Deluxe cab, two tone paint. So it might as well have all the fixing's!! As to the OP's blue truck? I like it just as it is and it's "done". It'd look fine IF you wanted to go to the trouble of finding, installing and repainting, but I wouldn't. P.S. Anyone ever seen a truck with TWO fender mounted spares? I understand the Canadian trucks might have come with the mount on the opposite side so it is possible to make a configuration that never came from the factory. |

Re: OK, I need some opinions
On Short bed I would mount it in the bed. There is a mount kit for that.
Heres a couple of long beds, the lighter one is a 8' bed the other is 7'6"
