Why is this axle bolted to the frame?

Who does this? Is this just a messed up rendering?

It's showing how the bag installs. That isn't a real axle and the springs are likely not connected to anything, so that mount holds everything in place to give you an idea of how it should look together.

To answer your question, I hope NOBODY does. Kinda defeats the need for a leaf spring.

But in the rendering the axle is bolted DIRECTLY to the frame. Not just the helper bags. There would be no vertical travel just maybe some horizontal. That's the 'hardtail' version I guess, maybe thay got too lazy to render shocks in those mounts

OK it's a mock-up display...thought I was missing a mount on my GMC

Haha...ya...the welds on that "mount" are really clean and it's all painted so I can see how it could be confusing.
