Re: A Mexican model 72?
In my opinion, if you're going to try to sell something for $10k, you should be able to do better than a few crappy cell phone pics. There's not even a picture of the entire truck. Or the "all dash is Spanish".

Re: A Mexican model 72?
Interesting. John Deere did the same thing. Tractors were manufactured here and shipped to Mexico and assembled there. There wasn't much to put in Spanish, but the tach that doubled as a speedometer was marked in km/hr.
I almost bought a 730 Diesel once from a farm about 60 miles south of the river; but the guy was cultivating corn and needed it a few more weeks. When I went back someone from a Mennonite community from farther in the Mexican interior had already snatched it up. Funny - I was going to retire it and restore it... he bought it and put it back to work! |

Re: A Mexican model 72?
The bed reminds me of an older ford with that wheel opening.

Re: A Mexican model 72?
These trucks were never made down there. I knew a guy locally here in Iowa that buys vehicles by the dozens and ships them there.
I dont like the modification to the bed......they didnt carry it through the rest of the body...looks unfinished......and really there is only one market for a truck that only show spanish on the dash. |

Re: A Mexican model 72?
[QUOTE=special-K;6020784....Through '72 they used the 67/68 style steering wheels and hubcaps. There were other models sold there not found in the USA.[/QUOTE]
Like I said, there were other models sold there not found in the USA. And,many features differed from ours, including drive trains. Not only were gauges labeled in Spanish, certain models even measured power by ox power rather than horsepower

Look at the rear door bottom...AND another oddity is that the front door jam is not squared off at the back (top of the window) like the US suburbans on the tahoe or avalanche.

Re: A Mexican model 72?
I would definitely own one of these. As much as I love my 67-72's they are kinda becoming like belly buttons. If a guy had one of these, he would most likely be the only one at the cruise it wouldn't matter to me if it was all in Spanish either, we all know what each of those gauges do and a speedo in Km's would actually be nice.

Re: A Mexican model 72?
If a guy took about 6-8" out from behind the rear wheels it would be perfect. Oh yeah, a full porter built treatment would be in order as well

Re: A Mexican model 72?
How about this one-a Square-Body Panel!
We saw this when we on vacation in Acapulco. Clearly, a newspaper delivery truck. I wanted to try to find the owner/driver and ask about it, but my wife didn't really want to hang out on some dark side-street in Acapulco
