Step Side steel bed?

Were step sides not available with a steel bed?

I bought some new cross sills from a member here and made some 2x4x3/4" inch blocks to use as spacers below the sill to account for the missing wood.

When I went to install them the front one has the step attached to it which I did not know so now on the front sill I had to put the spacers on top of the sill so the step bracket would bolt to the sill... this leaves no support in the middle.

I was looking for a front sill (or maybe all) for use on a steel bed but could only find sills like that for a fleetside.

Suggestions?

Idea is to throw a 3/4" piece of plywood in there with diamond plate on top of that to add some weight to the rear. The look I am going for is a grandpa shop truck of sorts so the diamond plate wouldnt look out of place in my opinion.
