How to remove the white lines on gauge lens
I am installing a camaro tach in my gauge cluster. And I am trying to remove the white lines on the lens where the tach will be. And I have already messed up one lens trying to get the lines off. So I am just hoping someone can tell me different ways to try and remove the lines. Thanks for any help you can give

Re: How to remove the white lines on gauge lens
Look for Novus Plastic polish, it's wonderful stuff. For heavy scratches you use Novus #3, light scratches Novus #2, and #1 is a glaze that will glaze over the last minor haze and give the surface a smooth glossy sheen. I've actually used it on plastic so bad that I had to sand and steel wool it first to get major deep scratches off and then polish with Novus 3, 2 then 1 and you'd think it was a new piece. Be warned though if you go to the extent of sanding it's very easy to distort the flatness or thickness of the piece and when it's a lens well it starts to distort the view of what is behind it. Anyway works great on acrylics, polycarbonate, styrene and even hard rubber parts and Bakelite type parts.

Re: How to remove the white lines on gauge lens
Goof off will mess up the plastic lens. If you use it, plan on polishing the lens afterwards.

Post some pictures of those gauges, I'd like to see what they look like! I've thought of doing the same thing myself.

Re: How to remove the white lines on gauge lens
Very nice!
I also thought about using the 150mph Z28 speedo. It looks like it bolts up the same as our unit. |
