Lowering questions
Hey guys I have a question. Im getting ready to buy a 1971 C10 and someone lowered it by heating the springs. Not a big deal but im interested in buying new components to accomplish a 5.5/ 7 drop. The truck has rear coil suspension. What all components will i need to achieve the 7 in the rear. I know the 3 inch coils and 2 1/2 spindles for the front, just not sure on how to achieve the 7 inches out back. Any help will be great

Re: Lowering questions
5" spring and 2" block or 6" spring and 1" block or dropped trailing arms and springs..

Re: Lowering questions
if you are doing it on the cheap get some jeep tj rear spring and a 2" block.
Its not the best for hauling a heavy load but it works. |

Re: Lowering questions
Hello, i am new to the forum. so far it has been a great deal of help! thanks all. i recently bought a 72 SWB that has a 5.5 with spindles and springs, with the rear lowered by 2" blocks and 5" springs. it is an extremely rough ride in the back end. i am considering "C" notching the frame to gain more travel. You may want to also consider this. Again, i am new so i would appreciate others input on this. I do hate the idea of cutting a good frame, however, this is a father son project and the truck will never leave my possension altered after we are done restoring it. so i can live with it
