I have a 78 chevy one ton chasis, rear brakes have been converted to disc---recently the rear locked up,they would release if engine not running, they have the e brake calipers-so I disconnected the e cable ,no difference---so I drove it a few miles with the brakes dragging only the rear, they releasted after setting, next morning I pushed the the little pin in proportional valve-they work ok now ,but not sure what caused it,could it have been that valve--??? don't want this to happen again-- I have been driving it for 6 months--thanks. cab is a 48 load master 5 window, frame 78 one ton-engine 4bt cummins----

Re: studeystudebaker
What master cylinder are you running? One intended for drum brakes would have a residual valve that keeps pressure on the wheels cylinders of the drum system. That helps to prevent a low pedal and gives faster response to the pedal too., but it's bad for disks. Since there are no springs pulling them back from the rotors, they just drag.
In a totally unrelated thing, did you get your name from the pulling truck?

Re: studeystudebaker
I had several Studebaker trucks---when I first started with you tube-studeystudebaker50 was all that was available-finally I dropped the 50-I have about 30 videos on you tube-several about the two stroke detroits----on the master cylinder,is there anyway to get the calipers not to drag so tight----to fully release- this is my first experience with disc---all my old stuff was drum----I posted several pictures of my truck-----can't find them---where should I be looking
