Which conversion U-Joint for 10 to 14 conversion?
Gathering parts for my axle swap. Can someone advise what U-Joint I'm going to need for my 1970 3/4 ton that currently has a 10 bolt? Going to 14 bolt. I'm thinking 1310-1350 conversion but I'd love advise from someone who has done it on the same truck. I've read a ton of different opinions but I'm looking for info from someone who knows for sure. Thanks!

Re: Which conversion U-Joint for 10 to 14 conversion?
A Dana 60 10 bolt? An Eaton/Corp 10 bolt? or a 1/2 ton 10 bolt converted into your 3/4ton?
More than likely you will only need a 1350/1350 u-joint. I suppose the one you have in there may work. However, your drive line length may be more the issue....

Re: Which conversion U-Joint for 10 to 14 conversion?
The FF14bolt pinion is about 3" longer than the Cop 10bolt. you will probably have to have the drive shaft shortened. If so, you might as well have the upgraded 1350 yoke installed at that time.

Re: Which conversion U-Joint for 10 to 14 conversion?
Got her done today. U-Joint stayed the same. The yoke was about 1.5" longer, but it sat in there just fine. Needed straps instead of the U-bolts. Those were a bear to find. Ended up getting some out of someone's drawer after two trips to NAPA. Long day, but she's in.
