Re: Carrier bearing on 1967

You need this. I have run it for years on my 383 stroker, no problem, have even been down the dragstrip(13.8).

If you want to spend $100 and fix the symptom and not the problem that's absolutley the way to go.

The factory carrier bearing can last 40 years on a properly ballanced driveshaft.

It is next to impossible to change ujoints or just the carrier bearing without effecting the ballance of the shaft.... ya know when all of the hard parts are in good condition.

Start flipping yokes, getting yokes and shafts out of time or flipped from front to back and ballance is non existant.

I build driveshafts for a living and I wouldn't change a carrier bearing at home.
A professional driveshaft builder would "take it to the guy".
Someone with extensive knowledge on the subject knows this isn't a DIY project.

If it cost more than $250 to fix whatever is wrong w your shaft just have them build you a one piece driveshaft.
