Me and a buddy stumbled across this today. There is no telling how long this truck had to sit there for this tree to grow like it did. It couldnt have been very old. The old home place burnt down a long time ago, but you can tell somebdoy is coming and feeding cows. It's about 30 minutes from where I live, so I'm going to go back an leave a note on the gate.

That is amazing.
I extracted an old Model A truck from a similar environment- Hadn't ran since '47.
Unfortunately, no pictures of it with the tree through the frame. Cool find!

If I can get it bought, I'm going to cut the tree down, but leave some of the stump stuck in the bed, I'm sure it sounds cheesey but the picture in my mind seems cool. Leave it like a rat rod type, just because I like the story.

That actually looks like two different kinds of trees. If you get it, count the growth rings when you cut the trunk. Looks like that thing was parked there when it wasn't all that old.

It looks like the frame is pretty well bent in the photo by the angle of the cab vs the angle of the bed. I'm thinking that you wouldn't only have to cut the tree down but have to cut the truck in two to get it out of there.

The tree has picked the truck up a little, but the more I look at the pictures the more it does look like the frame is bent. We didn't have a chance to look at it too well because we didn't have permission to be there.

(Actually, it is two different trees.)

I once bought a 57 GMC with a tree in the frame. But it was only 6" around, nothing like that.

I'd think a box of ACME termites would make short work of that tree.

Now that would be too cool! I'd hope you would video it, even if the engine were to turn over would be awesome, but IF it were to turn over, then there would be a possibility of it starting!

Well, we got the bad news today. This morning we ran over there and hung a flyer on his gate, he called about an hour ago and said it was his fathers, and they liked how the tree has grown threw it, so they didn't want to sell.
It kills me knowing that truck is there, knowing that tree is destroying it. But it is their truck, so it their choice.

They wouldn't even consider an offer? You could offer to commemorate the truck to the family's name? Then the truck would live on for future generations. The tree will continue to grow and the truck will rot out and become useless scrap. Oh well~

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
