I found some steelies and beauty rings

I have been looking to get some stock wheels for my green '68 and finally found a set on our local online classifieds. The guy said he was pretty sure they came off a '68 and I said well, they're gonna go back on one

I need to clean them up and get a coat of paint on them, not to mention some tires:

One still has the GM sticker inside:

While we were talking, I mentioned having some ralley wheels for my Panel project, and he had these he'd let go:

A full set of medium-deep:

And 3 shallow-dish:

Two of each are in really good shape, but the rest will take some elbow-grease to get back into shape.

Nice! Are you going to paint the steelies white? I used Rustoleum gloss white, and they turned out great, and are holding up well

Thanks, Tim. What size tires would have been stock for my '68 C/10? I want to get as close as I can with my new tires.

And yes, I'll probably go with white. I was hoping my guy hadn't sandblasted my core support yet so I could have tossed the wheels in with the job. He is really cheap, but I need to wait until he has a sandblasting job come to his shop. I waited 5 weeks for my core support, but he only charged me $10 to do it.

Yep,those are definitely the drum brake stock GM wheels. Stock tires were SAE sized bias-ply. The closest radial to standard would probably be 225/75s and 235/75s are closest to optional sizes...and the best choice IMO.
